BACKSTAGE WITH BOBBI BROWN AT JENNY PACKHAM SS17 SHOW

It’s not every day we can learn how to apply makeup from the makeup artist extraordinaire Bobbi Brown so when we had a chance to meet her at backstage before Jenny Packham’s show, we would call this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity (Thanks to BloggerBabes for the invite). Not only did we get to watch her work up close, but also learn about her brand stories and listen to some of her great beauty tips.

Here are some steps to recreate this look shared by the makeup legendary herself

Skin

Moisturizing your skin with Hydrating Face Cream and Hydrating Eye Cream before applying foundation. According to Bobbi Brown, “the right moisturizer will give skin a plumped up, cushiony look, and creates a perfect canvas for makeup.” However, if you are living in the tropical climate, try to apply less moisturizer if you don’t want your makeup to melt during the day.

Corrector and Concealer

First, apply the Skin Smoothing Pore Perfector to reduce the pore size. For a nude glow, apply a tinted moisturizer then use the Retouching Wand to even out bare skin. We saw Bobbi used this magical wand a lot on the model’s face. Starting at the center of your face and blending outward with your fingers. One of Bobbi’s secrets is her Creamy Concealer. It dramatically improves your appearance by giving eyes a brighter, fresher, more well-rested look.

Foundation

After moisturizing and correcting your skin, it’s time for foundation. Bobbi used her iconic Foundation Stick for an incredibly natural look. Its creamy yet weightless texture applies effortlessly and blends seamlessly so all you see is fresh, smooth, even skin.

Powder, Bronzer, and Blusher

Depending on your skin tone, you can use The Pressed Powder to set the foundation for a smooth and flawless finish. To avoid powder buildup on oily skin, don’t forget to use an oil-blotting paper before touching up. Oily skin can turn powder yellow or orange so you might have to choose one shade lighter than your skin tone. To complete the skin routine, Bobbi used the Stone sheet Bronzing Powder to achieve a sun-kissed look and applied Blusher for an instant healthy-looking flush of color. Bobbi’s tip? Never use blusher on your eyelids as it will make your eyes appear sore and tired all day long.

Brows

To frame the model’s face, Bobbi and her team used the Eyebrow Brush and the Eye Definer Brush together with some brow products to create well-groomed brows.

Eyes

Bobbie described the look for Jenny Packham’s show as pretty, soft, and modern rock ‘n roll. It’s a combination of beauty and edge, smudgy eyes with glossy finish. Bobbi applied Bare Beach eye gloss on the lower lid, Mahogany and taupe eyeshadow under the gloss to give a deep look. Then, she finished the entire look with the “Eye-opening” mascara.

Lips

Using Artstick lip pencil and Rich Nude lip color, Bobbi added just a right amount of color on the lips without drawing the attention away from the eyes which were the highlight of the entire look.
